Baldwin. Riegel's was a Gift Donor, and is also Deeper Blues'
Official Barber.
Danville Area Food Pantry director Chuck Brooks (back to camera)
and two volunteers
man the truck provided by Express Shipping and U-Haul for the
event. We filled this truck!
MCs Erin (Big E) Forman and Larry Weatherford did a GREAT job!
Lane introduces coproducer Chris Wells to the audience!
Lane introduces Executive Producer Jill Jones to the audience.
He says that, "without Jill, none of this would have happened!"
Pastor Melissa Forman of the New Kingdom Christian Church offers
the opening prayer.
Chuck and a young volunteer show the crowd some of the many
tools in the Tractor Supply Company Tool bag, which was SO
big, we had to auction it off instead of raffling it!
The Root Canals opened the concert with some Fine Jazz!
Alan Wait of the Root Canals. Alan is also Official Tech for
Deeper
Blues, making sure all the basses and guitars work properly.
Big E fronts Phaze II, an R&B band he leads as part of his
Youth Ministry. On bass is Deeper Blues
drummer, James Jones, also an excellent bassist and guitarist.
And, yes, they rocked!
Big John of Phaze II.
The New Kingdom Christian Church Choir adds some down-home Gospel
to the show. James
and Gary Jones are a regular part of the Praise Band. And Pastor
Forman can SING, y'all! As
can the rest of the choir, which includes adults and children
in a single group.
Pastor Forman, singing God's praise.
Lane urges the crowd to "Dig Deep" because "we're
feeding babies!"
Deeper Blues closed the show with a blistering set of Blues
the way it was meant to be felt!
Left to right: Lane Baldwin (bass, vocals), James Jones (drums)
and Gary Jones (guitar).
Sometimes, you just have to shout it out! Lane digs deep into
Daddy's Pier.
Come on, feel it with me! No pain, no gain! -- Gary eggs the
crowd on.
James kept the groove nice and strong all night long. His youthful
exhuberance really keeps Lane and
Gary on their toes. "James has a groove like a frieght
train - unstoppable!" says Lane of his new partner.
Take a deep breath, and let the pain go. Lane finds renewal
at the end of the show.
Father and son throw down. "This is my dream come true,"
says James.
Thanks so much for coming, and we'll see you again next year!
